Hānai Kanaka
Like the Moʻolelo o ʻUmi reminds us, the best way to lead the community is to feed the community. Through Hānai Kanaka, we are able to nourish the people that come from our place – physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Community Kitchen Food DistributionHui Mālama i ke Ala ʻŪlili (huiMAU) created the Community Kitchen Food Distribution (CKFD) Program in 2020 out of a sense of kuleana (responsibility/accountability) to share the abundance and hānai kanaka in our community. Throughout the program's existence, CKFD has been a place to gather with each other and share food and stories intergenerationally. From weekly to now monthly distributions, we have aligned our program to the needs of our people we serve.
