Census Table 1878"Under the authority conferred on the Board of Education by Section 6 and 7 of Chapter LXXXIX of the Penal Code, all persons are hereby required, under pain of fine not to exceed $50.00 to answer to the best of their knowledge, all of the following questions relating to their Sex, Age, Nationality, Occupation, and whether or not married.
All householders, heads of families, tenants in chief, and all other persons to whom this blank shall be given, shall cause the same to be properly filled out for all persons who shall have slept on their premises on the night of Friday, the 27th of December, this A.D. 1878." |
