huiMAU's ʻĀina Art Camp is a 3-day immersive overnight program primarily focused on empowering Hawai'i youth (ages 13-17) who are particularly drawn to growing their art practice on ʻāina. Guided by artist Haley Kailiehu and the ʻāina of Koholālele, participants will go on huakaʻi together and learn moʻolelo that will facilitate the creation of art pieces reflective of their pilina to the ʻāina in and around them. They will explore questions related to ʻāina and pathways towards self-, kaiāulu- and lāhui- self-determination.
Program dates are March 15-17. Drop off and pick up is at huiMAUʻs headquarters or Hale Paʻauilo in Paʻauilo (43-1351 Hawaii Belt Road, Paauilo 96776). This is an overnight program and participants will be staying on premise at Hale Paʻauilo.
The fee for the program is $150 which will be collected on March 15, 2022.
